Cookie information page

Hi. Welcome to the part of our website that tells you about cookies and how we use them.

So, what is a cookie?

A cookie is a text file containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device. Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improve the user experience. They cannot be used to identify you personally.

How long will the cookie be stored on your device?

This depends on the cookie. Some are allocated to your device only for the duration of your visit to a website. They are called session based cookies and automatically expire when you close down your browser. Others, known as persistent cookies, can remain on your device for a period of time.

How do we use them?

When you access our website, we want to make things as easy and straightforward for you. We therefore use:

  • functionality cookies: these allow our website to remember choices you make (such as any user name and password) and any changes you have made to text size, fonts and other parts of web pages that you can customise; and performance cookies: these collect information about how you and others use our website, e.g. which pages are most visited, if error messages come up and how effective our online promotions are. They are only used to help us improve how our website works and to ensure ease and speed of use.
  • All the information collected is anonymous and does not in any way impact on your privacy; in particular, they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

What we don’t do.

We do not use any cookies to target you with adverts.

What particular cookies do we use?

The following are our own cookies; they are controlled by us and used to provide information about usage of our website. They are all session based and therefore all automatically expire when you close down your browser:

Name Purpose
ci_session Unique identifier for the users session
TextSize Setting the text size
TextType Setting the graphic version
ASPSESSIONIDQABRARAD Unique identifier for the users session
fueldid Unique identifier for the users session
PHPSESSID Unique identifier for the users session

We use a number of suppliers who may also set cookies on their websites on their behalf.

We do not control the use of these cookies so you should check the third party websites for more information about them.
